As a part of the vision of St. Luke's to inspire our students to demonstrate our core
values throughout life, our community service activities center around our value of
"Compassion: empathetic, unselfish regard for the needs of others and generous in spirit."
The administration and faculty design activities and programs that instill in our students
the qualities of citizenship by reaching out to our school community and beyond.
At St. Luke's cooperation and respect for others is part of our success.
Age-appropriate projects in recent years have included:
- Adopt-A-Highway Program
- American Red Cross Blood Drive
- Cookies for local Service Agencies (police, fire, rescue)
- Book collection for and reading to Headstart children
- Community Food Closet donations
- Coordination with a St. Luke's alumni family to raise funds, send cards and build relationships with the children who were orphaned in his native Sri Lanka after the devastating tsunami.
- County Animal Shelter
- Habitat for Humanity
- Jump Rope for Heart
- Operation Christmas Child
- Relay for Life (American Cancer Society)
- SAFE House
- Senior Citizens Outreach Programs
- Visting Senior Citizens in Nursing Homes/Assisted Living Facilities
